How much can I claim?

At Oscar Wylee, our teams can swipe your health fund card on a HICAPS terminal and process a quote for your favourite frames and lenses. This will show the claim amounts for the optical extras that you are entitled to.

The claim can be processed on your behalf in-store with an eligible health fund card. The amount you can claim varies depending on the health fund you are with and your level of cover.

Claims can be made any time of year, within your claim-period, up to your maximum benefit for extras like optical.

Can I claim my glasses with my health fund?

Yes, if your health insurance extras packages include benefits for optical. You’ll need a prescription from an optometrist to make a claim on prescription glasses

Your level of cover and which health fund you’re with will determine how much of a benefit you are eligible for. You may be eligible to claim two prescription glasses complete with standard single vision lenses, for no gap. Can I claim sunglasses with my health fund?

Depending on your level of cover, you can claim prescription sunglasses just like claiming for prescription glasses. You’ll need a prescription from an optometrist to make a claim on prescription sunglasses.

You cannot claim non-prescription sunglasses.
