Being 85 years old and suffering from Macular Degeneration I was somewhat anxious having to go to a ...different optometrist as my previous one had retired. However, the warm, gentle welcome by the receptionist put me instantly at ease and Rebecca, the optometrist's professional manner inspired confidence. She took the trouble to explain my situation and the testing went efficiently. I would and in fact, have already done so recommend her highly. The shop is bright and well-organized and the frames under special prices, I am now eagerly awaiting the arrival of my two pairs of specs, one for reading and a cool, red frame for TV watching! The only drawback to the Oscar Wylee would be difficulty of parking. See more

The optometrist who tested my eyes was very knowledgeable and thorough. She also explained my option...s very clearly, giving me time for questions and to make a decision. The other staff member who assisted me to select frames was also really helpful. A great experience and I would recommend coming here to others. See more

I had a wonderful experience at Oscar and Wylee. The staff were amazing, welcoming and kind. The opt...ometrist who tested my eyes was fantastic, and very clear with my results. The lady in the shop followed me around helping me chose a frame - I’m quite an indecisive person and it was great to get a second opinion and recommendations! As a long term contact lens wearer I recently visited Oscar Wylee Ponsonby after noticing a large d...eterioration of sight in one of my eyes. The team there were very helpful and Ernest the Optometrist went out of his way to provide explanations. I received advice on all the options for glasses, and contact lens - which I didn’t expect since they don’t sell them. I had assistance choosing the right glasses which were reasonably priced, the consult was thrown in for free along with a report identifying the issues and proposing the best option for glasses and contact lens.
