HEALTH FUNDS

What is a Private Health Fund?

Private health insurance helps cover the cost of your health care. Some policies will include cover for optics which you can use to pay towards the cost of new glasses.

Are you registered with my Health Fund?

Oscar Wylee is a registered optical provider for New Zealand’s leading health funds.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us.

How much can I claim from my health fund?

Policy limits vary depending on your level of cover. We recommend you contact your private health fund to check out any restrictions.

Alternatively, you can head in store and a member of the team can see if we are able to perform a quote via our Hicaps machine.

Can I claim for non prescription glasses with my health fund?

Due to health fund restrictions, we are not able to claim for non prescription items via private health insurance either in store, or via an invoice online.

If you are getting a different Optometrist to fit lenses into your Oscar Wylee frames, they may be able to claim towards the lenses but this depends on policy limits.

Contact your health fund provider for more information.

I've purchased a pair of glasses but didn't have my Health fund card. How do I make a claim?

All purchases made in-store can be claimed directly on your behalf by our store team and you will only need to cover the gap. If you do not have your card, you will need to pay the total and claim back from them.

After you make a purchase through our online store, we will provide an invoice with all the information you need to make a claim, including our provider number, item codes and costs. To claim your rebate, simply send through our invoice with the relevant claim form.

We are unable to provide items codes for non-prescription items.
